Aldris
8 weights · 16 styles · Roman + Italic · Variable
A text serif that holds at 9 point. Drawn to set long-form editorial without asking for special treatment. Light through Heavy, all with proper italics.
Mindzane is an independent foundry drawing three working families, slowly. Aldris, for body text that needs to hold its shape. Noven Grotesk, for signage that wants to breathe. Halcyon Display, for headlines that do not need to shout.
Each family ships as a complete working set: weights, italics, tabular figures, small caps where warranted, and a variable file. Licence covers desktop, web and apps.

A neo-grotesque with the air knocked back in. Built for signage, UI and catalogue copy. Ships with tabular and proportional figures, three alternates per capital.

4 weights · 8 styles · Roman + Italic · Variable
A display serif with the high-contrast you want at 120pt and the restraint you want at 48. Drawn for magazine covers, gallery signage, and editorial pull-quotes.
The complete working library. 36 styles, three variable files, three matching mono companions, a printed specimen booklet shipped worldwide. Use across unlimited desktop installs, web pages, and apps under one studio licence.
We draw in Old Montreal, above a bookshop. Three designers, one proofing press, no venture money. Aldris took six years. Noven Grotesk took four. Halcyon came quickly and is still being corrected, quietly, every quarter.
Aldris set our entire 160-page spring catalogue and we did not reach for a backup serif once. The italics are the rare thing, actual drawings, not slanted romans.
Specified Noven Grotesk across our mobile app and a museum wall. It performs in both places, which is unusual and slightly suspicious.
Halcyon at 200pt on the gallery signage, and at 48pt in the catalogue. It holds up at both ends. The & is doing a lot of the talking.
The bundle paid for itself on the first project. The licence language is the plainest I have read, I actually understood it before forwarding to legal.
The printed specimen showed up in two weeks, beautiful object, on the shelf where the agency book used to be. Small detail, meant a lot.
We have a small budget and Mindzane is priced so we can actually use everything rather than scrap together two weights from three foundries. A rare thing.
Questions about licence scope, corporate pricing, or a custom cut of an existing family. Replies from the foundry inside one business day.
